I'm creating this blog is to keep our families informed of the events and sometimes funny happenings that take place around the Arbez-Ohio household. So for this 1st blog I'm going to post the things that we have done as a family so far this year, and then try to update once a week.
So here goes...

We went on a mini-vacation this year to Kentucky. We went to the Kentucky Horse Park and then on the way back we went to the Newport Aquarium and shopped at IKEA and some new outlet malls nearby. The girls thought the best thing about vacation was staying at a hotel. If you ask them about their vacation, the hotel tops the list. It was fun to get out and travel with the girls, but I'm glad it was a "mini-vacation" if you know what it's like traveling with 3 year olds.

We "camped" in our backyard and bought a new fire pit to make it authentic. The girls had a blast, and so did we when we decided to sleep outside during the 4th of July weekend when our whole neighborhood decided to shoot off fireworks ALL night long, sigh...Not too much sleeping that night.
We enrolled the girls in swimming lessons in September and also in "church school", which is a good introduction to pre-school, which they will be starting next Fall. "Church school" as we call it, is actually part of a Mother's Day out program that is on Thursdays from 9am-2pm, which gives me some much needed time away...to clean.
Swimming is going great, no fear of the water for either one of them. Only 1 incident where Olivia didn't want to participate, mostly because there was a little boy who also didn't want to participate. Needless to say I marched in and give her a good talking to, and am happy to report that there have been no incidents since.
The girls celebrated their 3rd birthdays in July. We went to Gymboree, which is a place full of play equipment and a "teacher" that runs the kids through fun games and activities. It was a great place for a 3rd birthday party, we all really had a great time, and I think all of their friends had a good time also. One of the gifts they got were their "big girl bikes". Bikes with training wheels from Grandpa Arbez and Lorraine. They love those bikes and they were a big hit. Thanks Grandpa Arbez and Lorraine!

We have also enjoyed most recently going to Lynd's Fruit Farm for some good old fashioned apple picking and wagon riding. We had such a good time going with our neighbors, we took some great pictures, and picked lots of apples. We did end up going back for another round just a couple of weeks ago, and also had another great time!
We also visited Pigeon Roost Farm to get our pumpkins and play in their wonderful play area, the girls had a blast. There is so much to do there, you could spend forever, if it was warm enough. Our weather has been so cool though, that we could only stand to be there for about an hour, even in winter coats. Got some good pictures though.
On another note, I had eye surgery this year, and we found out that Kramer has a severe heart murmur, but he is symptom free, thankfully. He isn't on any medications and we hope he lives to be the grouchy old man he already seems to be! Phil is healthy as a horse, hope he always stays that way!
We made our rounds at the Quarter Horse Congress, luckily we live only 20 minutes away, what a luxury! We went up several times to watch some classes and to take the girls for some cowboy culture, I think they are getting into it, makes me pretty darn happy.
Enjoy, until next time...
